Lot Description
A late 19th century continental 18ct gold amethyst and diamond brooch. The oval-shape amethyst, within an openwork scrolling border, to the circular and rose-cut diamond collet details. Approximate dimensions of amethyst 26 by 20 by 13.1mms. Estimated total diamond weight 0.40ct. Length 4.2cms. Weight 22.1gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The amethyst is a medium dark purple, with strong colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions, to include colour banding. With fair condition showing scratches and nicks which can be seen with the naked eye. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Some small light and dark inclusions can be seen with the naked eye some require magnification.
