UNIVERSAL GENEVE - a gentleman's Monodatic wrist watch retailed by J.W Benson. Numbered 200103-2 1677038. Signed automatic bumper calibre 138C. Silvered dial with hour markers, Arabic twelve, subsidiary seconds dial to six, date aperture to three. Stainless steel case fitted to a tan strap with stainless steel pin buckle. 34mm.
Retailer dialled watches show both the name of the maker and the shop that sold the watch. In this case it could be confusing as J W Benson was a watchmaker in its own right from 1847 onwards, winning numerous awards and accolades. Unfortunately, bomb damage during WWI brought the manufacture of watches to an end and from this point onwards they were retailers only, either under their own name or of other brands such as this Universal.

<li>Dial has visible marks. Dial also shows some discolouration around the hour markers.

<li>Case has scratches, marks and dints.
<li>Crown appears to be functioning correctly.
<li>Case back has marks and scratches.
<li>Strap has marks, creasing and some discolouration.
<li>Buckle has marks and scratches.<p>
