Lot Description

The Birmingham Mint, H.M Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, a set of twelve silver medallions to commemorate her eightieth birthday on 4th August 1980, hallmarked Sheffield 1980, in original fitted case with certificate, mostly About as Issued. Together with a Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee commemorative set of four silver medals, no. 31/3000, hallmarked Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd., Birmingham 1977, in original fitted case with certificate, Very Fine to Extremely Fine.(2).

The Birmingham Mint set is mostly About as Issued with minor surface marks and finger prints to some. Approximately 25 grams each. The second set of four medals is mainly Very Fine to Extremely Fine, some edge and rim scuffs, quite dull in appearance and colour. Approximately 42-44 grams each.
