WWII, Bomber Command No. 166 Squadron, Royal Air Force group of five medals awarded to 154681 Flying Officer John Trevor Lambourne comprising 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, War Medal 1939-45, Order of Leopold II, Knights badge with silver palm, case and certificate, Croix de Guerre (Belgium) with palm. Together with Lambourne’s Flying Log Book, corresponding copies of the Operations Records Books, various photographs of the recipient, squadron and aircrafts during service, aerial photographs taken during missions over Gelsenkirchen, Cologne, Le Havre, Bordeaux, Osnabruck, Arnhem, Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Duren, Paderborn, Hanover, 1944 Christmas card, numerous No. 166 Squadron association memorabilia and correspondence, additional France and Germany Star, and several associated books and newspaper clippings covering the history of No. 166 Squadron, RAF, Lancaster and aviation. <p>

The Royal Canadian Air Force Flying Log Book documents Lambourne's training commencing in July 1943 with the No. 8 Bombing and Gunnery School, Alberta Canada. The log book lists Lambournes missions with No. 166 Squadron from November 1944 and includes; Dresden February 13^th 1945, Chemnitz February 14^th  1945, Nordhausen April 3^rd 1945 and Nurnberg (Nuremberg) January 2^nd  1945 in which Lambourne records being 'attacked by an ME 410 and wounded in leg'.

Copies of the Operation Record Book confirm that Lambourbe was admitted to Grimsby & District General Hospital having received a gun-shot to the right ankle. It is believed that the mission flown by F/O Thompson and crew was twice attacked and the Air Bomber (Lambourne) sustained a bullet wound in the leg, after himself removing the bullet he continued with the attack and the Mid-Upper Gunner claimed an ME 410 as destroyed. The log book confirms Lambourne returned to service on the 26th of January 1945. The last mission listed is for Lutzkendorf on the 4th April 1945 and summarises 34 operations for No. 166 Squadron, as Air Bomber and predominantly in a Lancaster. The log book concludes with records of Lambourne undertaking No. 113 Bombing Leaders Course at Empire Air Armament School and an Instructor at RAF North Luffenham.
