Lot Description

Manchester & District Football Association, Manchester Cup 1904-05, gold and enamel Winners medal hallmarked for 1904 and named to F Thorpe, arms with red, white and blue enamel, rev. engraved BURY F.C. WINNERS F. THORPE, 22x26mm approx., 9ct., 13g, suspension loop. Very fine.

Frank Thorpe (1879-1928) played at centre half for several clubs between 1897 and 1910, including Bury and Southampton. In 1903 he was part of the Bury team that won the FA Cup.
