Lot Description

A natural pearl and diamond pendant. The oval light grey natural pearl, weighing 9.34cts, to the old-cut diamond and bifurcated surmount, suspended from an 18ct gold curb-link chain. Accompanied by report number 20014794, dated 5th March 2014, from AnchorCert, stating that the pearl is natural, origin opinion saltwater. Estimated diamond weight 0.40ct. Chain with hallmarks for Sheffield. Length of pendant 2.4cms. Length of chain 41cms. Total weight 6.3gms.

Condition Report

Overall condition good. Minor surface wear in keeping with general wear. Minimal glue between the pearl and the surmount. Please refer to the report for further details of the pearl. Pearl measurements 9.80 by 11.44 by 12.46mms. Pearl off-round with a slightly uneven shape and surfaces. Silvery grey with strong brownish to golden-yellow hues. Strong rose and greenish overtones. Fair skin with some surface blemishes to the front, uneven rings to the side and cracks to the back. Good lustre to the front, duller to the back. Diamond bright, drawing a yellow hue. No obvious inclusions visible under magnification. Diamond assessed within the limits of the mount. Diamond in good condition with minor abrasion.
