Lot Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold sapphire and diamond cluster ring. The oval sapphire cabochon, within an old-cut diamond and calibre-cut sapphire border, to the plain band. Ten calibre-cut sapphires deficient. Approximate principal sapphire dimensions 9 by 6.8 by 6.7mms. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Weight 5gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Many sapphires are missing. More may become loose. All settings will need attention. The principal sapphire is heavily abraded to the surface. The sapphire has a pale hue. Fine oriented needle like inclusions are visible. The sapphire is a little loose in the collet setting. Diamonds bright and well matched. Individual size/setting of diamonds prevents accurate and full colour/clarity assessment. Ring band is a little thin, in keeping with age. Ring size M 1/2.
