A fine 19th century Swiss grande sonnerie carriage clock, Henry Capt, Geneva, the white-enamelled dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, framing inscription 'Henry Capt/Geneve', above subsidiary alarm dial, the two-train movement with silvered lever platform escapement inscribed 'H.C. 87' the backplate with French remarks and number 9235, striking on a blued steel coiled gong, in a fluted column case, engraved beneath with three-position switch 'Grande Sonnerie/Silence/Petite Sonnerie' 5.3" (13,.5cm) high, excluding handle.
