A Victorian gold foil-back amethyst brooch. The oval-shape foil-back amethyst, within a scrolling foliate and floral surround. Length 2cms. Weight 4.4gms.

Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. The foil has started to come away from the reverse of the stone affecting appearance. The amethyst has a light to medium purple hue with medium saturation and good clarity. The condition of the amethyst is fair with abrasion and scratches which can be seen with the naked eye.
