Lot Description

A late Victorian silver basket, of oval outline having lobed foliate pierced rim above fruiting and floral embossed border detailed with Bacchus mask and vacant oval cartouche, all above formalised leaf decoration, and raised upon spreading oval foot. Hallmarked James Wakely & Frank Clarke Wheeler, London 1889. Maximum width 6 6/8 inches (17 cm), weight 10.95 ozt (340.6 grams).
