Lot Description

A pair of 1920's silver twin handled dishes, each of curved oblong form with an oval and cross motif border, and raised on four foliate scroll feet. Hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd., Birmingham 1920/21. Length including handles measures 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), weight 5.92 ozt (184 grams).

Both dishes display general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use, also quite heavy tarnishing to some areas. Numerous heavier scratches and several dints and bumps to both. Heavy knocks to a couple of the feet so that the dishes wobble when standing.  Also possible repairs to some feet. The hallmarks and maker's marks are clear and legible, just some slight rubbing.
