Lot Description

A cased set of late Victorian shamrock open salts, each with silver-gilt interior and shamrock shape bowl salt spoons, hallmarked Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd. Together with a single pepperette of urn form with swag frieze, raised on a square foot. Gross silver weight 2.73 ozt (84.9 grams). (2).

Good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight wear to the gilt finish, more noticeably to the salt spoons. The cased salts have overstruck maker's marks. Single pepperette hallmarked A.I., Birmingham 1911.
