Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver teapot, of fluted and tapering oval form to an oval footed base, leaf moulded terminal to the stained wood handle and conforming wood finial to the hinged lid. Hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1912. Maximum length of teapot measures 11 3/4 inches (30 cm), gross weight 21.4 ozt (665.5 grams).

Condition Report
The teapot appears in good overall condition, displaying general light wear including surface scratches, contact marks and tarnishing. Seam line just visible around the stem of the foot. Hinged lid appears in good working order and is struck with the Lion passant. The main hallmarks are clear and legible, some slight rubbing to maker's mark.
