Lot Description

A 1940's small silver chalice, of typical form with knopped stem and a simple engraved Cross. Hallmaked H F & Co Ltd., London 1943, also with impressed date 1944. Height measures 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm), weight 5.29 ozt (164.5 grams).

The chalice appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear including surface scratches and nicks, contact marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. File mark to the rim. Interior was likely once gilded but this is now a little faded. The hallmarks and maker's mark appear a little rubbed but still legible.
