Lot Description

An Edwardian silver cigarette box of plain oblong form with wooden interior, hallmarked Chester 1902, length measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm). Together with a 1930's silver cigarette case, the oblong form with engine turned decoration, initialled cartouche and stepped rim, hallmarked Birmingham 1939, height measuring 5 inches (12.8 cm), weight 5.8 ozt (183 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

The cigarette box appears quite worn with numerous dents, the silver splitting from the wooden body etc. The hallmarks overall are clear and legible, maker's mark to the box illegible.
