Lot Description
A cased late Victorian silver beaker, of tapered cylindrical form, the splayed foot with beaded rim and similarly beaded girdle. Hallmarked Daniel & Charles Houle, London 1871. Height 5 15/16 inches (15 cm), weight 7.40 ozt (230.2 grams). With case.

Condition Report
Fair overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Repair work to base and sides of base, visible as large solder repairs. Diameter at lip 2 7/8 inches (7.2 cm). Maker's marks slightly rubbed, legible. General dirt. Wear to interior gilt finish towards rim. Vessel is very slightly out of round. Case with area of significant scuffs to the outside. Purple interior with gilt lettering 'Stephen Smith, 35, King St. Covent Garden'.
