A pierced continental dish of oblong form, embossed tavern scene to the centre depicting a musician playing a violin and further figures dancing and drinking, within a wide pierced border further decorated with pendant, swag and garland motifs. Marked '800', also with probable French import weevil mark. Maximum length measures 14 1/4 inches (36.2 cm), weight 18.56 ozt (577.4 grams).

The dish displays general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing. Several breaks and repairs to the pierced decoration. Numerous floods of solder clearly visible to the reverse.
