Lot Description
Two American sterling silver small preserve baskets with blue glass liners, the first decorated with applied floral garlands to pierced diaper pattern sides, further floral and foliate scroll motifs to the monogrammed swing handle and the whole raised above a circular spreading foot, the underside with maker's mark for Hennegan, Bates & Co (Baltimore, Maryland, circa 1874 - 1930), also marked 'sterling' and with number '2310'; the second basket plainer in design and with pierced scalework sides, maker's mark for Bailey, Banks & Biddle (Philadelphia, 1878 - present), further marked 'sterling' with number '3517'. Height of both not including handle measures 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), silver weight 6.67 ozt (207.4 grams).

Condition Report
Both baskets appear in fairly good condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slightly heavier tarnishing visible to some areas. Some small dints/bumps, mainly visible to the pierced sides of the plainer basket. Both swing handles are in working order. The maker's marks etc are clear and legible. The blue glass liners vary in thickness.
