Lot Description

A set of six silver and hardstone teaspoons, by Liberty & Co, each designed as a drop shaped bowl with cylindrical stem, to the oval shaped hardstone terminals, to include carnelian, blue john, lapis lazuli, malachite and two green hardstones, with unassociated case. Hallmarked Liberty & Co, Birmingham 1899. Approximate length 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), gross weight 1.46 ozt (45.5 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Maker's marks slightly worn but legible. Gems show surface reaching features and moderate abrasion. The blue john shows more abrasion. The teaspoons differ slightly in size. The case is later and not Liberty &Co, the spoons do not quite fit within the depressions.
