Lot Description

A Victorian Scottish silver condiment spoon in Fiddle Shell pattern with engraved initial, hallmarked George Crichton, Edinburgh 1851. Together with a selection of Georgian and later condiment spoons to include Fiddle Thread and Shell and King's pattern, various dates and maker's marks; the lot also including a late Victorian shovel spoon, and three further condiment spoons with very worn marks, one unmarked. Gross weight 4.7 ozt (146 grams). (10).

In varied state, all the spoons displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use, and to varying degrees. Heavier wear to some of the bowls with deeper scratches, pitting, heavier tarnishing. Some bowls a little misshapen. Heavy surface wear to the decoration on one of the King's pattern spoons. The unmarked spoon is in a very worn and poor condition. Wear and some distortion to hallmarks but most are legible.
