Lot Description

A George IV Scottish fish server, Fiddle pattern with crested terminal and with engraved and pierced foliate motifs to the slice. Hallmarked Edinburgh 1823, maker's mark partly distorted, 'H' is visible. Length measures 12 1/4 inches (31 cm), weight 5.79 ozt (180 grams).

The fish slice appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general wear in keeping with the age and use, including surface scratches, little nicks or pitting marks and tarnishing. Slightly heavier wear around edges and to the tip of the slice. The hallmarks appear a little rubbed but are still legible.
