A late Victorian silver matchbox cover of rectangular form with four ball feet, raised oval frame to the front to hold a portrait miniature, hallmarked Andrew Barrett & Sons, London 1894, also with impressed maker's name and address, length measuring 7.5 cm. Together with a modern silver buckle with scroll piercing and cherub motifs, hallmarked W H Manton Ltd., Birmingham 1999. Gross weight inclusive of matchbox lining 139.5 grams. (2).

Condition Report
Both items display some general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Some general nicks and slight dints to the matchbox cover. With matchbox and lining but quite a lot of wear to these. Also with a portrait miniature print inset to the oval panel. Some slight rubbing but the hallmarks are still clear and legible, slight distortion to maker's marks but still legible. The buckle appears in good condition and the hallmarks are clear and legible.
