Lot Description
A George III silver vinaigrette, of oblong outline with simple reed decoration and opening to a silver-gilt interior with scroll pierced grille. Hallmarks are partly distorted but likely Birmingham 1817, maker possibly Matthew Linwood. Measuring 3.3 cm by 2.4 cm, gross weight 17.5 grams.

Condition Report
The vinaigrette displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. Some minor dints and little nicks. Heavier wear around the edges and rubbing and some loss of detail to the reeded decoration. Small drilled hole in one end. The hinges appear in working order. The hallmarks are located to the inner rim, they are quite distorted and difficult to read.
