Lot Description

A Victorian silver bachelor teapot of oval part lobed form, with stained wood handle and a conforming lobed finial to the hinged lid, hallmarked Charles Boyton (II), London 1884. Together with a pair of plated pincer tongs. Gross weight of teapot 14.4 ozt (447.8 grams).

The teapot appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general surface scratches, nicks, contact marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hinged lid in working order, very slight gap when in the closed position. Residues of polish to some areas. Very slight knock to foot rim. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but are still clearly legible. Some heavier tarnishing and marks to the pincer tongs. They appear in working order.
