A 19th century French Empire-style walnut day bed. The head and foot boards each with cylindrical top rails over figured panels, one runner of concave form and matching figures the rear runner of plain elm, raised on block supports to accommodate a 4-foot mattress. 51" x 78" x 42" high (130cm x 198cm x 107cm).

Old (inactive) worm scarring to both top rails. Rear runners not concave and not veneered, but appears original. Two slats to hold mattress but there is no base or matress supplied. Frame only.
