Lot Description
An early 20th century silver and gold split pearl and diamond crescent brooch. Designed as a split pearl curved line, to the old-cut and rose-cut diamond detail. Principal diamond estimated weight 1.55cts, I-tinted colour, SI2-P2 clarity. Length 3.1cms. Weight 6.7gms.

Condition Report
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Evidence of repair or alteration to the clasp and hinge. The split pearls are fairly well matched some may be replacement. The colour varies slightly from a creamy white to silvery white. Some split pearls show peeling and small chips. The principal diamonds vary in appearance colour and clarity, with different outline shapes, the centre diamond has a surface reaching inclusion that can be seen easily with the naked eye. The other principal diamonds have light and dark inclusions that can be seen with magnification. The colour of ranges from near colourless to a fairly strong yellow tint. The centre diamond is slightly loose in the setting. The rose-cut diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated total diamond spread weight 0.45ct, which is no indication of the total diamond weight. Individual diamonds too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades.
