Lot Description
A late 19th century gold aquamarine brooch. The quatrefoil of oval-shape aquamarines, within a floral engraved scrolling surround, suspending a pear shape aquamarine drop. Length 8.1cms. Weight 27.5gms. With fitted case.

Condition Report
Overall condition good. There are scratches to the brooch in keeping with overall wear. The aquamarines have a weak saturation of colour and appear greyish blue. There are inclusions to many some visible with the unaided eye. There are some areas of abrasion and small chips in places. The suspended pear shape aquamarine has been set crown first with the pavilion set outwards. There are some areas of wear and discolouration to the surround and pin. The pin and catch is secure.
