An Edwardian silver teapot of bulbous oblong form to a footed base, shell and gadroon rim and ornately embossed throughout with foliate scrolls, floral motifs and diaper patterns surrounding twin-opposed vacant cartouche, stained wood handle and finial to hinged lid. Hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1901. Maximum length measures 12 1/4 inches (31 cm), gross weight 18.31 ozt (569.6 grams).

Condition Report
The teapot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight dints and bumps including some little dints around the edge of the spout. Remnants of polish. No personal engravings. Some slight flattening and loss of definition to some of the decoration. Hinged lid appears in working order. Heavy staining to the interior. The hallmarks are clear and legible, corresponding part hallmarks to lid. Slight distortion to maker's mark but still legible.
