Lot Description
A 1940's silver hot water pot of plain baluster form and decorated with a small enamelled flag to one side depicting a lyre, the whole with wood handle, a circular wood finial to the hinged and slightly domed lid, and raised on a footed base. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1945. Height including finial measures 8 7/8 inches (22.5 cm), gross weight 23.78 ozt (739.6 grams).

Condition Report
The coffee pot appears in good overall condition, displaying some general light wear including surface scratches and nicks, contact marks and some light tarnishing. Some edge chips to the enamel flag. The finial appears stained but the handle unstained. Hinged lid in good working order. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but are all still legible, also corresponding part hallmarks to lid. Impressed number to the underside D1827.
