Lot Description
An American sterling silver basket by Shreve & Co., of circular outline with moulded, wavy rim and pierced throughout with stylised foliate, quatrefoil and other geometric motifs, the similarly decorated single handle with central engraved monogram, the whole standing on four ball feet. Impressed maker's mark to the underside and pattern number 1334. Height including handle measures 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), maximum diameter measures 10 3/4 inches (27.3 cm), weight 21.68 ozt (674.3 grams).

Condition Report
The overall condition of the basket appears fairly good, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor surface dints. The ball feet are pushed in a little creating slight impressions. Seam lines visible to both sides of the handle. Some rubbing but maker's marks etc are still legible.
