Lot Description
A French silver sifter spoon, having a shell bowl with foliate piercing and engraved decoration to the stem with floral motifs to the hourglass shape terminal. Struck with Minerva mark to both reverse stem and bowl, also with maker's mark at the base of the bowl for Harleux (likely Charles Harleux). Length measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm), weight 1.57 ozt (49 grams).

Condition Report
The spoon displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Small splits/breaks in the piercing of the bowl. Struck marks are mainly clear and legible, the maker's mark is a little distorted. There is a further mark to the stem and also a further partly obscured mark to the bowl.
