A late Victorian silver mounted claret jug, the cut glass shaped body rising to the silver collar with floral scroll embossing, oblique fluted hinged lid and ivory terminal. Hallmarked J Sherwood & Sons, Birmingham 1896. Height measuring 9 3/4 inches (25 cm).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Glass with minor nibbles. Ivory finial appears 'bleached'. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
