Lot Description

An early nineteenth century white metal and agate box, of rectangular outline, the grooved sides to the twin rectangular shaped agate panel top and hinged lid. Length 7 cm. Weight 79.2 grams.

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight wear to the agate panel mounts, agate panels possible replacements. Agate with minor surface abrasion. Shallow dents to base. Lid stands slightly proud at either side of the hinge. Marks to lid rim poorly stuck, slightly worn. Probably pseudo marks.
