A George IV silver table snuff box of oblong form, the hinged cover mounted with a panel depicting in high relief a pedlar in traditional sixteenth century dress, carrying a tray of bottles and touting his wares with figurative town scene background, engraved armorial to the underside and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked John Linnit, London 1823. Length measuring 4 inches (10 cm), 6.8 ozt (weight 214 grams).

In good overall condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight rubbing with a little loss of detail commensurate with the age. Minor dints. Gilding bright to interior. Hinge in good working order, lid closes firmly.
