A Victorian silver vinaigrette, the oval form with scalloped edge, the underside with foliate engraving surrounding a vacant cartouche, the front engraved with a view of Scott Memorial and opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior and the hinged grille pierced with an image of a Heron in shallow water. Hallmarked Hallmarked Frederick Marson, 1885. Length measuring 4.4 cm, weight 19.3 grams.

In good overall condition. The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The hallmarks are clear and legbible, maker’s mark partly distorted.
