Lot Description

A selection of late Victorian to early twentieth century silver vesta cases, each with similar foliate scroll engraving throughout surrounding a central vacant cartouche. All hallmarked Birmingham, dates from 1892 to 1918, various maker's marks including Hayes Brothers and Horton & Allday. Gross weight 4.23 ozt (131.5 grams). (5).

In varied state, all the vesta cases displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Some small dints and heavier scuffs or marks are visible. All hinged lids appear in working order, however some of the clasps may require some attention. Some slight distortion but the hallmarks and maker's marks are mainly clear and legible.
