Lot Description

A cameo, diamond and enamel memorial ring. The hardstone cameo carved to depict a gentleman wearing a turban, within a rose-cut diamond surround, to the re-enamelled tapered sides and plain band. Weight 2.5gms.

Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The cameo is possible later replacement. The enamel has some small cracks and abrasion. The diamonds are bright, lively and well matched. Small light coloured inclusions can be seen under magnification. Individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Script engraved to the band, possibly reading the name 'John' and the date '1846' with some engraving indistinct. Approximate ring size K.
