Lot Description
A late 19th century ruby, emerald, diamond and pearl brooch. Of marquise-shape outline, the pearl and diamond point collets, within an old-cut diamond surround, with alternating cushion-shape ruby and emerald highlights. Length 3.2cms. Weight 4gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Estimated total diamond weight 0.15ct.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
<li>The diamonds are fairly bright, lively and well matched.
<li>Light nicks and chips can be seen to some. Fine feathers and fractures can be seen under magnification.
<li>The rubies and emeralds are bright with good clarity and typical inclusions. Light surface abrasion and nibbles to the facet edges.
<li>The pearl has a cream body colour with rose and green overtones.
<li>The pearl is irregular in shape with typical surface blemishes.
<li>Without the aid of laboratory equipment, it has not been possible to determine if these cultured pearls are from a fresh or saltwater source.
