A mid Victorian 15ct gold snake brooch, circa 1860. The coiled snake, with circular garnet cabochon eyes. Length 5.7cms. Weight 23.8gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Split links to coiled snake body located under the snake head.
<li>Soft solder repair to the base of the snake head, near to the broken links.
<li>Removable snake head top, possibly originally designed for a concealed memorial compartment.
Brooch pin and clasp are replacements.
<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
