An early 20th century 15ct gold gem-set spider brooch. The spider with oval-shape ruby collet body and split pearl abdomen, to the plain bar. Maker's marks for Saunders & Shepherd. Length 7.7cms. Weight 8.8gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>The ruby is a deep medium red hue, well saturated, with fair clarity and numerous typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Split pearl with slightly irregular surface, ovoid outline, with a slightly yellowish cream hue.
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
<li>Stamped 15.
