Lot Description
A late 19th century gold amethyst, garnet and chrysoberyl brooch. The oval-shape amethyst and yellow chrysoberyl cluster, within and similarly-cut garnet and chrysoberyl scroll and rope-twist surround. Length 5.8cms. Weight 16.4gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>There are some dents and more serious scratches to the back of the brooch. There are areas of purple discolouration to the back of the brooch in several areas.
<li>The amethyst is pinkish purple with a good saturation of colour, there are some chips visible to the pavillion.
<li>Some garnets have a better saturation than others, visible typical inclusions and minor surface abrasion.
<li>The chryspberyl are greenish yellow, with a weak saturation of colour, visible abrasion to the facet edges.
