Lot Description
LEMANIA - a naval issue gentleman's chronograph wrist watch. Stainless steel case with British broad arrow to case back. Numbered 0552/924-3305, 5043. Unsigned manual wind movement. Silvered dial with Arabic numeral hour markers, subsidiary recorder dials to three and nine. Fitted to an unsigned black leather strap with stainless steel pin buckle. 38mm.
Between 1945 and 1976 Lemania supplied a variety of chronographs to the Fleet Air Arm. This model dates from the 1950s and the case back shows the original HS designation being crossed through and overwritten with the later NATO stock number.

<li> Manual wind movement is currently functioning.
<li> Movement appears to show scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear.
<li> Chronograph is currently functioning.
<li> Dial appears to be slightly discoloured with loose debris and dark marks. Hour markers are rubbed and display pitting. Luminous paint has been re-applied and is heavily discoloured.
<li> Hands seem to be heavily discoloured and tarnished with areas of rusting. Chips and scratches are also present.
<li> Glass appears to have been replaced with plastic, which is lightly scratched
<li> Case appears to show multiple medium scuffs and scratches with several chips, particularly to the edges.
<li> The crown displays heavy pitting and tarnishing with light scratches, the pusher displays medium scratches.
<li> Case back seems to show multiple medium scratches, the majority of which should polish out, with a slight dent and a number of small chips.
<li> Strap appears to be in good condition.
<li> Buckle seems to display a small number of scuffs.
