Lot Description

An early 18th century oak coffer or bedding chest. The moulded three-panel lid over a two-panel front with lunette-carved frieze, niche-carved panels and unusual spacer with orb and cross motifs over a zig-zag lower frieze all between channel-moulded stiles, the sides also carved, 47.5" x 21" x 25" high, (120.5cm x 53cm x 63.5cm).
