An unusual 19th century whale bone letter opener, with scrimshaw decoration depicting a star plus figure of a lady holding sword and shield beneath inscription 'Union', and cornucopia with date 1864, the back engraved 'God Give Us Peace', with initials O.L., 6" (15.25cm) long.
