A rare Alice in Wonderland patinated brass money box
Attributed to Sy Schreckinger
Early 20th Century, the cuboid box decorated with characters from Lewis Carroll's story, to the roof 'The Cheshire Cat' with coin slot, to the sides 'The Mad Hatter', 'The Queen', 'The Knave of Hearts' and 'The Duchess', the sliding base concealing hinged base door decorated with 'Alice', with sprung flap beneath, stamped twice 'PROV. PAT. 18808/07, 4", (10cm) width, depth and height.
