A late 17th/early 18th century oak bible box.
The hinged moulded rectangular top enclosing two candle boxes, the front with hasp and lockplate over pricked zig-zag decoration between notched edges, the sides similarly decorated, 24.5" x 14" x 9" high, (62cm x 35.5cm x 23cm)

Condition Report
Lid is two pieces with full-width join and minor fillet. Later brass pivot arm beneath lid (to remove) in addition to original hinges. Loss to back corner of base, but otherwise in good original condition.
