Lot Description
A Victorian silver four piece tea service comprising teapot, hot water pot, twin-handled sugar bowl and a cream jug, each of slightly tapering oval form with beaded rims and engraved decoration depicting birds, floral baskets and foliate scrolls surrounding twin-opposed vacant cartouche, the tea and hot water pots with flat hinged lids each having a spinning top finial, gilded interiors to the cream and sugar. Hallmarked Josiah Williams & Co (George Maudsley Jackson) London 1887. Maximum height of hot water pot measures 9 1/4 inches (23.5 cm), gross weight 66.07 ozt (2,054 grams).

Condition Report
The service appears in good overall condition, all the pieces display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Some loss of detail to areas of the engraved decoration. Some slight knocks/dints. Heavy brown tarnishing to interior of teapot. Hinged lids appear in good working order. Some rubbing but the hallmarks are mainly clear and legible, also matching part hallmarks to lids and finials.
