Lot Description
A late George III Irish silver salver of circular form, having an applied shell and scroll rim enclosing a scale-work border interspersed with scrolling foliage and floral motifs, engraved family crest and motto to the centre and the whole raised on four scroll feet with shell terminals. Hallmarked James Le Bas, Dublin 1816, also with retailer's mark for William Law. Maximum diameter measures 17 1/2 inches (44.5 cm), weight 94 ozt (2924 grams).

Condition Report
The salver appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some slight dints and bumps. Also some heavier scratches and marks visible to the centre. The motto reads 'In Deo Pro Salute Spero'. The hallmarks are mainly clear and legible, slight distortion to maker's mark and date letter.
