A cased mid-twentieth century silver commemorative plate, marking the bi-centenary of the Birmingham Assay office, having etched profile of Matthew Boulton to centre and inscription to rim, within lobed and gadrooned edge, numbered 86 beneath. Hallmarked Joseph Gloster Ltd., Birmingham 1973. Diameter 9 inches (23 cm), weight 12.64 ozt (393.2 grams).
