Lot Description

A pair of 1930's small silver toast racks, each of arched five bar form with central openwork handle, hallmarked Brook & Son, Sheffield 1936, length measuring 3 inches (7.6 cm). Together with a further 1930's toast rack of rectangular seven bar form, hallmarked Sheffield 1939, length measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm). Weight 6.32 ozt (196.5 grams).

All three toast racks display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some quite heavy tarnishing and all would benefit from a clean and polish. Some slight knocks. The central bar of the larger toast rack is compressed slightly from the handle. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The pair also have impressed mark 'Brook & Son, 87 George St. Edinburgh'.
